Please don't applaud before I start to live - Liever geen applaus voor ik leef

Twenty-year old Thomas feels as if his life is on hold. His days are repetive and despite his desperate efforts nothing changes. Then he receives a letter from a girl he doesn't know: Anna. She lives in Scotland and Thomas can't help but reply to her written confidences. A correspondence ensues that gets darker and darker, everything in Anna's life seems bleak. Thomas is reminded of his best friend Frank, who chose to end his life a few years back. One day Anna asks Thomas to come visit her. This is the spark that finally brings him to life again: driven by guilt over Frank he decides to go and save Anna. But things are more complicated than they appear to be.
